CAROB GROVE : THE SITE
Carob Grove is in a beautiful location on the fringe of the picturesque village of Pano Akourdalia.
The site is in a stunning scenic location with breathtaking panoramic vistas over the surrounding mountains towards the foothills of the Troodos, over to Polis and Chrysochous Bay on the Mediterranean Sea.
It takes its name from the many carob trees growing in the area.
In a lovely rural setting near to the two pretty villages of Pano and Kato Akourdalia we can only describe Carob Grove as 'a real find'.
These two villages of Pano [higher] Akourdalia and Kato [lower] Akourdalia have been beautifully restored as part of the Agrotourism Laona Project for the Conservation and Regeneration of the Cypriot Countryside.
Pano Akourdalia also has a famed Herb Garden recently lovingly restored.The Herb Centre being the old school for the village.The whole area is famous for it's wild flowers.
The delightful old Church - Panayia Chryseleousa-can be found in the upper part of the village.
Nearby is the larger village of Kathikas with excellent tavernas and coffee shops offering local amenities.
Another well known rural inn is to be found in Kato Akourdalia.
Carob Grove is only 23kms from Paphos and a 15 minute drive to the coastal town of Polis and the picturesque harbour of Latchi and it's beaches.
